D. J. and the Debutante Ball Tapa dura - 2004

In his latest adventure, D.J. finds out that his sister is going to be queen of a debutante ball, and she would like D.J. to be one of her pages. But all D.J. is concerned about is getting a new bike for his birthday. In preparation for the ball, Mom comes up with a great idea. She decides to enroll D.J. and his cousin Alex in etiquette school. After one day, and a series of mishaps, Mom decides that etiquette school is not for the boys. Fortunately, D.J.'s grandfather comes to the rescue.
With the help of an old army friend, Mr. Rene, on a long weekend away, Grandfather transforms two little boys into gentlemen. While swimming and playing, the two boys don't even realize they are learning manners. When the night of the ball arrives, D.J. finds that all his hard work has paid off--he is able to make a perfect bow to the audience. When he looks up, he sees that his family did remember his birthday after all.
As children follow D.J. on his latest escapade to learn proper etiquette, they too will learn how to set a table and which fork to use for their salads. And while keeping it fun, this book teaches children, alongside D.J., more about the rich culture of New Orleans.
