Sheffield, England: Sheffield Academic Press, 1995. First Edition First Printing . Hardcover. Near Fine. 8vo. 308, (2) pages, indexed. Hardcover bound in red cloth. Light wear to the binding. Prior owner's name on the front paste flyleaf. The original narrative dates from about 200 B.C. to 200 C.E. This was the romance of Joseph of Genesis and his Egyptian wife Aseneth. There is some question over its origin and authorship. The oldest existing copy was written about 570 C.E. in Syriac and was apparently based on an older Greek manuscript. Some consider it a Jewish Midrash and a translation of it is included in the Pseudepigrapha.
