Octavo (24cm); [vi], 243pp. Marbled paper-covered boards with ivory leather spine and gilt lettering, green topstain, and clear vinyl jacket. Boards are sturdy and square with no significant signs of shelfwear; leather perhaps a touch brighter down spine than over boards; topstain uniformly faded an inch in from spine; pages toning along edges but unmarked. Binding is sound. Mid-series novel featuring Gash's Lovejoy character, on whom was based the eponymous BBC series (1986-1994) starring Ian McShane.

Jonathan Gash (pen name) was a medical doctor who collected antiques and dictionaries. He is known for his crime novels with Lovejoy, dealer and solver of crimes. The television adaptation featured Ian McShane. This Scorpion Press production is one of the deluxe lettered reserved for subscribers. It has five raised bands, horizontal gilt titles and is also signed by H R F Keating, author of the Appreciation. The book has been in stock since it was produced in 1991. Sold as new.

ONLY 20 LETTERED DELUXE COPIES were produced for private distribution and were SIGNED BY BOTH GASH and H.R.F. KEATING who wrote the appreciation. This is LETTER "K". Features the likeable antiques trader Lovejoy. Cream leather with light pastel green marble paper sides, hubbed spine, green top edge and tan end papers.
