Exquisite colour photographs, mainly of exterior and interior views of historic houses, illustrate the text; some are labelled in four languages, most are uncaptioned. Rauma, one of Finland's most historic settlements, was given its first charter in 1442 and even by 1950 the population had grown only to 25,000. Today it is noted for its shipyards; historically, for bobbin lacemaking. It is one of only two World Heritage sites in Finland. Unpaginated (approx. 136 pages).
