The idea was simple. Mexico has a huge artisan tradition, but how can new things be created? How to move beyond that same tradition? Tecali is a town centered on onyx craftsmanship and the traditonal talavera painted majolica or pottery. Over 800 artists and architects from around the world have participated in this project creating new art from traditional sources.
