This is the popular version of the famous story of Robin Hood, the legendary heroic outlaw depicted in English folklore and then in literature and film.This version was written in 1898 by the American editor Joseph Walker McSpadden (1874-1960).

There are not many copies available with this particular image on the cover—most have the image of Robin Hood with his men.
The pages are not numbered—it looks like 150 or so.
Green cloth boards with bright gilt on the back, front and spine. Two-thirds of the cover is a glazed illustration.
This book has not been read. There are bits of the price tag on the back cover (there are a few scuff marks on the back too).
There is some fading to the spine, both of the gilt and the green cloth. The original owner, a well-known newspaper columnist and film critic, wrote her name on the title page.
