This has contributed to a general neglect of the Mission in the English literature on Botswana. Andrea Mignon's study is thus an important and overdue contribution to the ongoing reassessment of local church history. Besides examining the early years of the Mission she has ably traced its post 1862 development among the Balete and Bahurutshe communities of south-eastern Botswana.
