Clever and fun. The continuing high speed disaster that is Rincewind. The staff at UU serves as the counterpoint plot thread and are, as always, entertaining.

An excellent book, vast amount of material covered. The author manages to keep an avalanche of information under control and constructs a coherent picture of what was accomplished. What was not accomplished is probably as important as what was, and this is addressed as well.

Very interesting account of the period from King Edwards death thru 1937 in Europe. The author covered all of the tumultuous years for different papers. He was at Verdunne and in Berlin during the armistice, prior to treaty signing. His analysis of the heads of state is thought provoking and worthwhile. Given that it was written in 1937, it is very uniquely situated on the timeline. He is critical of the League of Nations and Versaille treaty at a time when I am not sure that was a popular position.

Good piece of near future sci/fi. Twisty plot with no obvious end in sight.

Always worth finding out where an iconic movies/tv creation started. This is an entertaining read and is well worth the time to do so.

Good account of the information. Not for the casual reader, but if you study WW2 or aviation this is a good read. Piloting these planes in the dark with primitive radar was a real test.

While this is a fairly comprehensive look, the author does make it all seem a little bland. Given the nature of the operations covered that may sound strange. The part best covered was the work done by the beach survey teams swimming in from subs to gather data on potential landing sites. The appendices are a great resource for serious WW2 readers.

Economics in One Lesson

Probably the clearest presentation of econ that you could want. Because it depends on the fundamentals, it is not dated nor will it become so. It is well organised and complete.

If you want a straightforward explanation of economics, this is it. Very readable, and does not bog down. If you need to supplement your childs public education in economics, this will do it.

If you want to learn about Europe leading up to the Great War, this book will provide an excellent starting point. It is well written and thorough, typical Massie. The author does an excellent job of bringing to life the major British and German figures and their interconnection. If you you care to round out the period, add "The Proud Tower" and "The Guns of August" by Barbara Tuchman and you will be well informed about a period seldom seen in a US public school classroom.
