Very Good/Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. 1st thus. 510pp. In black cloth boards with gilt and red decorations and lettering, red blocked spine labels, top edge sprayed red, decorative headband, red endpapers (boards are strong, bright and clean, with smooth edges and sharp corners). Faint, occasional spotting on text block fore and bottom edges. Some mild marks on front free endpaper, suggesting there was once a label which has been removed, else internally neat, clean, bright and tight. In its original dust jacket (gently bumped along upper edge, faded titles on a sunned spine as typical for this edition). Marginal archival repairs to title and contents leaf of volume containing 'Ordeal by Innocence.' Otherwise a clean set presented in an attractive new leather binding.
