In good minus yellow cloth boards, brown titles to spine. The covers are straight, quite firm and a little grubby. Fairly clean pictorial end papers featuring rabbits. Gold bookseller's sticker on rear paste down from J.H. Lorimer, Sevenoaks. Good text block, tight and straight, fairly clean; well thumbed. With colour illustrations throughout by the author. Dedication on half title page. Last page has a sellotape repair. No jacket.

London: Eyre & Spottiswoode, 1946. Hardcover (no jacket), good condition. Boards are worn with some light surface marks and bumps to the spine ends and corners, slight dent to the leading edges. Front hinge is loose and the FEP and half title page is detached at the bottom inch, also there is a 2 inch tear to the bottom of the title page. Minor foxing throughout but the text and images remain bright and clear. DP. Hardcover. Good. Used.

Coloured frontispiece and 14 full page illustrations in black and white with green, red and tan, black and white title vignette and 27 text illustrations. Rags the terrier has fun with dressed rabbits, Miss Hedgehog and Mrs Vixen. No inscriptions, head and tail of spine and top corners just slightly bumped, small crease to corner of title page, contents bright and clean. Near Fine in good plus clean DUSTWRAPPER (dw: not price clipped (8s 6d), 10 mm (½") chips to head and tail of spine, a couple more to lower panel and 1 to top corner of upper panel, 2 closed tears to lower panel, 1 to upper panel, the longest 90 mm (3½ inches), spine and folds a bit worn with slight chipping to surface, edges and folds neatly strengthened on reverse by pasting strips of brown paper). Colour illustrations of Bunny Rabbits. Inscriptions in ink to front pastedown and front endpaper. Foxing to outer page edges. Wrapper is torn and chipped, with a few pieces of loss; other tears are repaired to verso with sticky tape.

Slight splay to boards; prize inscription to front endpaper; one page has been trimmed incorrectly by the printer causing a creased corner and overhang. Price clipped dustwrapper has a number of chips and tears with small losses to spine ends and corners. A naughty little dog called Rags meets a family of rabbits and other delightful animals. Humphrey Milford, Oxford Univers, 1919T. hardcover. Acceptable. . Cover shows minor wear and rubbing, some tears and edgewear at the corners and spine ends. Loose hinges with minor tears, pages are shaken, with light tanning and chipping, a few minor scribbles. All 16 plates included, profusely illustrated.

The book is in fair+ to good-minus condition (for a 100-year-old children's book!). The covers are rubbed along the edges and corners, brown cloth spine cover is cracked in a few spots and a bit worn. Interior pictorial end papers have some gluing ripples and general age, with some pencil erasures. Some of the pages are starting to loosen especially at the bottom gutter. Some of the plates have some chipping along the fore - or bottom edges with loss to the black borders. Text pages are a bit toned and one page has incipient cracks near the gutter. Binding is shaken but holding. This is a very scarce Aldin title about a family of rabbits and their friends and adventures. Faint discoloration from offsetting just visible on boards (as common for this title), some previous touchup to corners.
