Descripción:
Chicago: Albert Whitman, 1925. Hardcover. Good. No date (believed 1925 edition). Slim octavo in dark maroon cloth Tipped on color illustration of Sambo holding a pale green umbrella and with walking tiger; bordered and lettered in gilt, spine lettering black; illustrated endpapers. . Title page reads "The Enlarged Picture Edition" and "The 'Just Right' Edition". 64 pp., pp. 1-7 is a foreword about the book and dedication "This edition published in Appreciation/ Ivor N. Thyberg". 28 full page color drawings by Cobb X. Shinn. While the illustrations set the story in the tropics, Sambo's and his mother and father's costumes are stereotypical American black outfits (Black Mumbo looks like Aunt Jemima). About very good, wear to the cloth at head and foot of spine and gilt mostly dulled. Internally clean.
