1934 From a lending bookshop with their bookplate affixed to the end paper. A good filler example of this author's first novel, quite scarce in any condition. First Edition stated, dated 1934 on the title page, a true first.

In addition to a few library markings, there is scattered soil spotting throughout the text. There are a few pages with some water marks in the margins. There is a name label on the front end paper. There is foxing on the page edging. The cover has scuffing and some small spots on the back where there is some paper stuck to it. The cover also has corner tip wear. The spine has a minor lean and end wear. Published by Doubleday, Doran for the Crime Club. The title page states, Introducing Sir Richard Herrivell. 276 pages. .

First Canadian edition first printing of the first novel in the Sir Richard Herrivell series. Published in the UK under the title The Berg Case. No dustjacket. Light edge wear to the boards. Slight spine slant. In very good condition.

Later Canadian printing of the first novel in the Sir Richard Herrivell series. Also published under the title The Berg Case. Light spine fading to the dustjacket. There is a 1/4 inch of paper missing from the head of the dustjacket's spine. Edge wear. Foxing to the end pages. In very good / good condition.

Toronto: Doubleday, Doran and Company (Canada) Ltd., 1934. Hardcover. Near fine/very good. viii, 276 pp. 20 cm. Black cloth, stamped in green on the spine, which shows The Crime Club imprint. The title page does not mention The Crime Club but it shows the logo. Jacket appears to be the American, with the code 707-36 on the front flap. The jacket has an internal tape repair at the top of the spine panel to deal with a closed tear, and another on the front flap fold. "Double murder - but why had the first victim bullets through both eyes?" A Sir Richard Herrivell mystery.
