Text is tight and clean with some margin notes.Inside front cover is a most attractive ex-libris wood engraving of a rural ploughing scene. No inscriptions or annotations. Bound by Bayntun Binders in Bath, England, in full rich crimson morocco, paneled spine in gilt filigree tooling ot the edges with gilt filigreed inner dentelles, and marbled endpapers. All edges gilt. Near very good book. Joints worn, spine cracked near the foot, hinges cracked with separation along the rear hinge, leather spie labels lacking but with the embossed lettering quite readable. Owner's name and daet to the front blank. Even with it's faults, still a handsome book in a lovely binding. Inquire if you need further information.

Pardee Bucke (elder son of Richard Maurice Bucke) by Harry Buxton Forman, inscribed signed and dated January 1898 by Forman on the front free endpaper. Laid in are two letters and a typescript presentation inscription from the Special Collections Librarian giving the book to a London bookdealer in exchange for another Bucke item presented to the Library. Covers rubbed and slightly torn at head of front joint, spine-ends a little worn, contents slightly agetoned.

The rear hinge is cracked, and the thick, stiff paper used in this publication, though fine and beautiful, lends toward the cracking of the spine within the text. Still, an attractive, mostly intact and functional original binding. Previous owner's bookplate on front pastedown (William Ronghead), and notation neatly on first free endpaper. Illustrated with a frontisportrait of Browne. Contains the essays "Hydriotaphia: Urn Burial"; "A Letter To A Friend"; and "On Dreams." One of the series "The Books of the Verulam Club." Beautiful paper and typography. There is no date of publication listed in the book, but it was published in 1911..

Five raised bands on the spine, and two braided leather clasps - intact and fully present incluing brass fixtures. Top edge gilded, other edges rough cut. Creasing along the front hinge, some small scrapes to the leather; solid and square. With a sweet (3rd) anniversary inscription on first blank, dated 1919.
