Privately Printed, 1827. HC. very good, 3/4 leather, marbled boards (hardcover) SEE NOTE. TO WHICH ARE ADDED TWO OF HIS LETTERS AND A POEM - HITHERTO SUPPRESSED - NEVER BEFORE PRINTED." Publication date on title page often questioned and thought to be 1872 due to paper, binding, and possible "forged item." Light fading to green leather and light edgewear. A nice example of this title. 90pp.

Privately Printed, 1827 "Not for Maids, Ministers or Striplings". Preface states "A very few copies have been printed, solely for antiquarios; and none of them are for sale" vi, 9 - 90 pages. Half blue leather and blue cloth. Five raised bands on spine. Stamped in gilt on spine. Top page edges gilt. Slim 12mo 7 3/8" tall x 4 7/8". Marbled endpages. Later rebind with "Gayntun, Binder, Bath, Eng" printed in very small letters at very top of front endpage. Rubbed a little at edges. Some very light foxing on endpages otherwise clean. Tightly bound. near Fine condition..

Edition limited to 99 copies, 16mo, pp. [iii]-x, [2], 125, [1]; original full paneled crimson morocco, triple gilt borders on covers enclosing a central gilt panel with fleurons in the corners, gilt-decorated spine in 6 compartments, gilt-lettered direct in 2, a.e.g.; spine sunned, else near fine, in a green morocco slipcase broken along one edge. Spurious edition of Burns' erotic and bawdy poems. Several similar editions were also printed.
