This is a handsomely procused book starting with the Byzantine churches of Santa Sophia in Istanbul, San Vitale, Sant'Apollinaire in Classe, and St. Mark's in Venice. The Romanesque churches are represented by St Magdalen in Vezelay, St Lazarus in Autun, San Zeno in Verona, and the Church of St. Savin in St. Savin sur Gartemps.
