Volumes two and three are nearly fine. Volume two has the original glassine dust jacket with minor chips to spine ends. Volume three has the original glassine dust jacket with minor loss to the head of the spine panel and a large chip to the lower spine panel. Each volume has a cameo of Holmes inset to the front covers and the V R "bullet marks" to front and rear covers. The paper slipcase of volume one is rubbed and worn along the opening edges with two and three have mild rubbing. All three uniformly bound in quarter black cloth over decorated boards, black embossed cameos on front covers, w/ original glassine d.j.’s (some chipping, edgewear), still NF/VG- set preserved in open-backed slipcase, numbered on colophon as issued, from the library of Louise & Walter Swoope, w/ bookplates on front pastedowns.
