In good condition - has markings from use - due to differing weights on books, postage maybe adjusted at checkout.The U-Boat was the pride of the German fleet, and the Nazi leaders knew how important was the success of their underwater warfare. Hitler gave orders that every U-Boat loss should be reported to him immediately. In August 1941, however, there was a loss for which Doenitz could not account. The submarine U-570 suddenly vanished off the face of the ocean. Some time later, German Intelligence received alarming reports that a ghost U-Boat was operating against her sister ships! U-570 had, in fact been "captured" by a British aircraft - one of the only two German submarines that ever surrendered - and she was now fighting the wolf packs as H.M.S. Graph.
