A good 1884 "New and Enlarged" edition in soiled/aged red cloth covered boards with bright rubbed gilt decoration and titles and a small cup ring on the front board, the corners are quite bumped and rubbed, the tanned spine with dulled gilt letters is quite bumped/rubbed to the ends, internally strong intact hinges, no writing or stamps, unmarked pages soiled to the text-block edges. Gives a good account of Melbourne in the sixties where the Author resided in Victoria for six months also descriptions of with families being united on the docks, new areas just being added to Melbourne are St. Kilda, Williamstown, and Chinatown.
