Due to a binder's error, one leaf of text is bound, in place, but upside-down (the text is complete). Very near fine. Inscribed by Ellis in the year of publication: "4-11-66 To Mr. Willie Carrol. My best regards and I sincerely hope you will help strengthen 'The Weak Link' From William T. Ellis". African-American author was born and educated in Newton, Mississippi. "So much has been written about Negroes and 'the new revolution' caused by rising demands on the part of Negroes for full recognition as 'first class citizens' that the public is confused... I have likened the 20 million Negroes, in America, to a weak link in a chain. The white people of the nation comprise the strong links of the whole chain... Clean text, solid binding. Corners are mildly bumped. Boards are stiff. Dust jacket is present but has significant loss around the edges, tattered, slightly faded on spine but still readable. Dust Jacket is now protected by mylar cover.
