Illustrated. Later red calf spine with paper boards, spine gilt with raised bands, a small tear. Book plate of Lars Stolt. Arthur Fox-Davies (1871-1928) was a barrister and expert on Heraldry. He fought a legat campaign against those bearing coats of arms without lawful authority. In support of this campaign he produced the ”Armorial Families”, which attempted to list all living bearers of arms in England and Wales who could prove such authority. The size of the work increased considerably until its final edition in 1929.
