Quarter bound green leather with green cloth covered boards and gilt. Ex-Library copy, with expected inserts and inscriptions. Contains black and white photographic plates. Pages are moderately tanned and foxed throughout. Plates are bright and clear. Some occasional mild cracking to gutters throughout however binding remains reasonably firm. Boards have heavy edge-wear with bumping to corners, crushing to spine ends and rub wear all over. Cloth has minor damp and dust stains. Mild crushing to spine ends. Book has a slight forward lean. Gilt lettering is darkened.

Illustrated with 176 photographs taken by Franck during his journey. 6.25'' x 9'', 612 pages. The book is in very good minus condition. The hinge is cracked at page 305 and at the rear hinge. Slight shelf wear to the spine, and very minor bumping and scuffing to the corners. The cover illustration is well-preserved, and the front board is unmarked. The rear board has a few black marks on it but is overall well-preserved. Three small marks on the spine, and the publisher's name is faded somewhat. The illustration at the top of the spine is well-preserved. A previous owner's signature in pen and a marking in pencil are present on the front endpaper. A marking in pencil is present on the rear pastedown. The binding is starting at the half-title page. The tissue paper is intact at the title page but has some slight offsetting. The text… Leer más
