Bright and clean pages with light tanning throughout. Binding is firm throughout with minor thumb-marking. Pencil inscription to front endpaper. Boards have light edge wear with minor corner bumping. Mild crushing to spine, with occasional markings overall. Mild tanning to spine and board edges. Unclipped jacket has moderate edgewear with chips, tears, and creasing. Mild tanning to spine. Light rubbing and marking all over.

Reprint, very good oversized hardcover (no dust jacket) shows touch of soil and exposure toning to covers, mild shelf wear including some rubbing at edges and bumping to top corners, along with some other light trace wear. 144 pages of text followed by full page illustrated plates in black & white and color. Solid copy of this work on Derby porcelain from the noted authority.

Light thumb marking, foxing and tanning to pages, plates, pastedowns and free endpapers. More prominent to text block edges, pastedowns and free endpapers. Binding remains firm. Boards have noticeable corner bumping and edgewear with mild chipping, tanning and scuffing overall. Spine has light tanning with soft crushing to ends. Lettering remains bright and clear. Unclipped dust jacket with minor rubbing, chipping and tearing to edges. Moderate tanning and scuffing overall.

Spine starting to weaken in places, slightly grubby page edges and DJ rubbed on edges (under plastic cover). But overall a good, solid working copy. Heavy book (1.3kg) may require extra postage. Near Fine/Good. 4to - over 9¾" - 12" Large. 144pp of text with 12 full page colour plates and followed by a further 170 b/w photographic plates. Gilt embossed lettering to the spine and small vignette to the front board. Fresh, clean and tight. Dust wrapper is pric eclipped and protected in a fully reversible plastic sleeve. Loss of 2 cm to the wrapper at the tail of the spine and an area of 3 cm x 9 cm loss to the head of the rear of the wrapper. A few short tears from the wrapper edges with associated creasing. Light rubbing to the wrapper edges. The colour picture on the front of the wrapper remains clean and tight. A near fine copy of this book with a good wrapper.

Blue cloth w/ gold lettering and insignia; 108 pp. text followed by 199 bw plates; signed by both author and chairman of Derby porcelain as a presentation copy. With special presentation plate inside front cover to Mr. W.R. Bawden, from the Royal Crown Derby Porcelain Co. A very thorough history of the company, its wares, paste and glaze, pattern books, marks, and several sections on the artists employed in the potteries. Includes a list of plates. Unable to determine which W.R. Bawden owned this book.
