This issue includes reportage on the ECHO conference (East Coast Homophile Organizations), including two pages about an infiltration attempt by the American Nazi Party. Daughters of Bilitis was formed in 1955 in San Francisco by Del Martin and Phyllis Lyon and was based upon - and in the beginning supported by - the homophile organization The Mattachine Society and One Magazine.
