Complete in six volumes, and thus exceedingly scarce in this state and condition, there being only a single additional copy available on-line (and going for $1,200.00). From the personal library of the noted English historian of Ancient Greece and Ancient Rome, Professor Peter Morris Green, now of Iowa City, Iowa, 99 years old, nearly blind, but still working, in this case on a new translation and with annotations, of Herodotus, his favorite historian. Bound in burgundy cloth over boards, some discoloration and splotchiness to some panels and edges, light smudging to some foretip bottoms, a few ink-stamps from the previous owner here and there, but overall quite handsome, standing easily on the shelf, with sharp gilt-lettered titling over four blue cloth and two black cloth labels at spine.
