The spine is sunfaded and the gilt-lettering on the spine is rather faded, though still legible. Author's name is embossed on front cover. Shelf wear and rubbing to edges of spine. Some spotting on front cover, wear to corners of cover. Inscribed on front paper by previous owner, dated 1944. Pages 250-300 have a stain on the outer 1/8 inch edge of the pages. Some tanning of paper. No Creases, tears, or markings aside from those noted above.

First edition hardbound, moderate wear to boards, formers owners name written in inside copy. Dust jacket included with large 2-3" tear on front cover and other wear.

Foxing/marks to top and front page ends and tannig to pages. Jacket is torn in spots and missing large chips with some moisture stains to inside bottom. Front flap is missing.
