Hudson (1841-1922) grew up in Buenos Aires and was an ornithologist and poet of international recognition. He spent many years in Patagonia studying the flora and fauna.

Modest at the extremities, a very good copy in a good or better example of the rare dustwrapper with the printed price removed from the spine and some other modest chips. Contemporary ownership signature of author Cornelius Weygandt on the titlepage. Weygandt wrote several books, mostly on New Jersey and Pennsylvania history. Important travel book in a rare jacket.
