A three paragraph letter of approximately 120 words. Below Hunter's inked signature he has typed (a. k. a. Ed McBain). He is answering a fan who has written previously in praise of his work. Very good copy.

To Miss Rosemary Clark of Black River Falls, Wisconsin: "Please forgive me for not answering your very nice letter sooner, but I was away doing research on a new book, ..." . The letter includes an enumerated list of eight "...pointers I can give you about writing ..." . With postally sent envelope - the name typed on the return address of the envelope is Richard Marsten. Richard Marsten, Evan Hunter, Ed McBain, and others were all pseudonyms used by Salvatore Albert Lombino. .
