Binding has remained firm. Boards have been heavily rub worn with heavy shelf wear to corners, spine and edges. Corners are bumped and a heavily frayed and spine ends are crushed, with some small splits and chips. Noticeable damage to foot of spine. Tanning to spine and edges. Boards are bowed. Book has a forward lean. Water marks to boards and spine.

Spine chipped at crown with shallow loss; foot frayed; spine sunned; other light soil and handling to the boards. Front inner hinge starting, but secure. Endpapers browned; text is clean and unmarked. Armorial bookplate of Frederic W. H. Myers affixed to the front pastedown, most likely the famous cofounder of the Society for Psychical Research and coiner of the term 'telepathy,' who died in 1901. A sound copy with interesting provenance. BAL 10640. SUPINO 54.1.

From the library of Claude Fayette Bragdon (1866-1946. He) was an architect, artist, writer, philosopher, and stage designer. He designed Rochester's New York Central Railroad terminal. he wrote Architecture and Democracy. Besides his paintings, he is generally known today for his poster art. A very nice bright copy.

Original red cloth over boards with gilded lettering and frames on front and spine Including "A Catalogue of Books and Annuncements of Methuen and Company Publishers," from October 1900 (47 pages). Corners just scuffed and small bump to head and tail of spine, otherwise fine. Rough cut lower edge. The interior is clean and clear. History of ownership: bookplate from John Quinn, and early 20th century book collector from Ohio. Additionally, from the private library of Maurice Sendak with laid in paper documenting its sale. Maurice Sendak was a celebrated children's author and illustrator known for multiple works including, "Where the Wild Things Are." Pages: (8) 392 (47) Dimensions: 7¾ x 5½ x 1⅜ .
