This is a facsimile of the first edition that includes all of the original artwork plus additions by Andrew Skilleter.This is number 212 of 300 signed by Norman Wright and Andrew Skilleter. Condition: Like New - No marks or wear to the dust wrapper, contents clean, bright and tight. Even contains the original printed compliments slip from the publisher.

Limited to 300 copies, of which this is number 256. SIGNED BY THE PUBLISHER & THE ARTIST WITH AN ORIGINAL REMARQUE SKETCH. Originally published in hardback in 1966, this is one of the harder-to-find Biggles titles, and is here reprinted in hardback for the first time. The new dustwrapper is by Andrew Skilleter, who also drew the black and white frontispiece, SIGNED by the illustrator and publisher to the title page. A very fine copy in like dustwrapper. As new. This copy is enhanced by a drawing of an Auster monoplane to the front free end-paper by the Artist. Scarce with these attributes. A lovely copy. Photographs/scans available upon request.

The jacket has very minor rubbing to the spine tips and a small mark to the base of the front panel. Price clipped. Algy, working with the Indian Security Police to assist them in a gold smuggling racket, has disappeared. Flying to Northern India, Biggles, taking Bertie with him, lands at Shara, just below Nepal, where a 12 mile strip of Jungle all along the Southern border of Nepal called the Terai, forms a perfect boundary with India. Assisted by an Indian mechanic called Ram Singh, Biggles and Bertie commence looking for Algy. They know he had borrowed an Indian Air Force Hunter aircraft from Calcutta and was flying in that when he disappeared. Some mild foxing to the closed page edges. Very light dulling down to the board edges. The jacket is unclipped at10/8 net. A small mark on the rear cover, one tiny closed tear to the rear, a faint tide mark to the internal spine of the jacket and very minor rubbing.

The binding is square and tight, the green covers very clean. Spine tips just slightly creased with minor sunning to the very extreme edges. Corners sharp, free from owner names etc, the block is fairly fresh - no foxing or browning. A lovely example. The dustjacket is unclipped with price of 10/6. Trivial shelf-wear at the spine tips - no tears, slight loss of colour to one corner. Clean and bright, VG indeed - or better.
