The northernmost part of the jouney took him deep into Zayul land, over many rope bridges, great rivers, high mountains, dangerous tribesmen. A fascinating and well written primary work. * .

Illustrated with a frontispiece, 15 further black and white photographic plates and two maps. A better than very good copy, the binding square and firm, with mild bumping to the spine tips. The contents, with a previous owner's name to the front endpaper, are lightly spotted to the first and last pages and closed text block edge. Complete with the very good rubbed and creased dustwrapper, that is toned and lightly spotted to the spine and panel edges. Not price clipped (5/- to the front flap). The first printing was issued in black cloth with gilt titles to the spine and a yellow and red dustwrapper, priced at 12/6.
