Rough cut pages are lightly tanned and thumbed at the edges, with creased corners and foxing. Binding has remained firm. Boards are a little rub worn, slight shelf wear to corners, spine and edges. Corners are a little bumped. Spine ends are mildly crushed.

A very fine copy that had previously been in a paper cover. It appears unread. The ownership signature of a "William Bell, 1863" is on the ffep. At the top of the ffep is the stamp of Rollo and Adam Booksellers, who were partners in Toronto from 1860 until Rollo retired in 1866.
