No ownership markings. Acceptable to good dust jacket has numerous chips along the top edge and head of spine. This copy is smyth sewn. Smyth sewing is a method of bookbinding where groups of folded pages (referred to as signatures) are stitched together using binder thread. Each folded signature is sewn together individually with multiple stitches and then joined with other signatures to create the complete book block. This is the traditional and best method of bookbinding.

Represented in this collection of the finest and most typical specimen from the collection of the author are tribes from French West Africa, Portuguese Guinea, Sierra Leone, Gold Coast, Nigeria, Cameroon, French Equatorial Africa, Belgian Congo, Angola, and Tanganyika. Text in Dutch and English. DJ rubbed with moderate wear and sunned along edges, chips, tears and at times repaired with clear tape. Binding sunned, particularly at top and foredge. Book block slightly age toned not affecting images. DJ and binding in overall fair, interior in good+ condition.
