Very Good/No Jacket. the original cream boards are a little shelf rubbed. the book has a previous owner's signature and date under the front board. internally very clean indeed and well bound. complete with all plates and illustrations as called for. SIGNED PRESENTATION COPY "For Dear Susie the baby in the picture writes her name Laura Knight" to title page. Board margins are very slightly browned and extremities only slightly worn. Contents are very clean and fresh. Wrapper is price clipped, is a little sunned to spine and margins, and has small close tear to front panel at bottom corner, and another small close tear to top margin of rear panel which is repaired with tape internally and externally (external tape repair is coming loose). Overall a very nice copy.

The First UK printing published by William Kimber, London in 1965. The BOOK is in near Fine condition. Original cloth with gilt titling. The pink salmon top-stain is present but a little faded in a few places. The WRAPPER is complete and is in Very Good+ condition. Some small losses at the upper spine and edges (see images). Toning to the spine and edges with mild fading of the red lettering to the spine. The wrapper is protected in a removable Brodart archival cover. The decorative bookplate of Sir Michael Fraser, Lord Fraser of Kilmorack pasted in to the front pastedown. Penned inscription to the front blank endpaper : 'Mike with love from Chloe, 25th July 1965'. Chloe(Drummond) was Lord Fraser's wife. Laura Knight has penned a signed elaborate doodle to the title page. This doodle is presumable that of Lord Fraser and his wife having a meal. Laura Knight has written ' MIchael Fraser his book' to the top of the page. She has also doodled 'Fog' above the couple, presumably referring to ?? brain fog.… Leer más
