Low, Sir Hugh
(1824–1905), botanist and colonial administrator. "Low became closely associated with James Brooke, who was then establishing his regime in Sarawak. This very rare was book written by Her Majesty's Commission- er in Borneao, Rajah of Sarawak, Governor of Labuh-an. It is the personal narrative of some 30 months residence and the West coast of Boreno. His object was to make a collection of plants and seeds, study the tribes of aborigines. Brooke saw more of these tribes than any other Englishman or Europ- ean who visited those shores.
