Dusty head with wear along joints and very minor scuff at top of spine where it meets the back cover. Sunning to spine of jacket and very minor tear at top left cover. Few small marks, looks to be a red coloured pencil, at right of cover. Else, a tight, clean and attractive copy.

Originally issued with a 33-1/2 r.p.m record of Mailer reading from the text and a poem by Garcia Lorca. First edition (first printing). Near fine in a near fine dust jacket. Book only. Inscribed by the author: 'To Don Kaufmann, this book began in the mind of my friend Buzz Farbar. Cheers, Norman Mailer, Sept. '75.' Kaufmann published one of the first critical studies of Mailer, Norman Mailer: The Countdown (The First Twenty Years). Farbar later spent time in prison for drugs. The FBI was intent on nabbing Mailer and Buzz agreed to wear a wire to a lunch with the author, who was not involved in any such crime as shown by the recording.
