Here he focuses on the story of Countess Elizabeth Bathory, the ancient 'vampire' of Transylvania who was reputed to have murdered hundreds of young women in the belief that their blood would keep her young. He looks to separate the known facts from the legend. A fascinating work. A really nice copy in nr Fine condition. Pages are bright and clean with no markings or inscriptions, only a very neat stamp from a previous owner on the title page. Otherwise perhaps read just once. DJ is unclipped and with hardly any wear save the slightest impact of age here and there. But a lovely copy. Please see all photos, which are of the actual edition on sale. Now protected in a clear removable cover.
