Bound in publisher's gray cloth with full color pictorial pastedown on front cover and spine stamped in black. Later printing with 32-page gatherings. The book is in Very-Good condition with clean covers, bright front pastedown and strong binding. Interior pages unmarked. There is foxing to the spine and the ownership box has been filled in. Illustrations by the author.

Spine ends are frying Spine detaching from back cover 3" in middle of book. Spine has 4 or 5 large discoloration spots along with several smaller spots. Both hinges still attached though back hinge is starting to weeken. This book belongs to filled out and later covered over with whiteout. Block has light standard reading wear. .

Red cloth cover showing slight bumping at corners, spine top and tail and top edge. Half-title page is a little frayed at edge. Age discolouring on backs of FFEP and RFEP. Some foxing to edges. Looks better than it sounds but we try to be accurate.

Founded on and continuing the Famous Oz stories by L. Frank Baum ‘Royal Historian of Oz’. (London: Hutchinson: no date) Hutchinson’s Books for Young People series. Red cloth lettered in black pp. 128 (253 x 205 mm). Line Illustrations. Some leaves a little tanned; a near fine copy of the elusive UK edition in fair price-clipped dust-jacket which has a few marginal chips and clear tape repairs to its blind side.

Spine ends and corners a tad rubbed, lower corners lightly bumped, pages lightly aged (most notably around the edges of p64), with a wonderful contemporaneous inscription on half-title.
First UK edition, issued 3 years after the first edition. Tiny repaired tear to the cloth at the head of the spine, else very good plus in about good dust jacket with $2.00 price on the front flap, and large chips at the head and heal of the spine panel and smaller chips and small tears to the edges. Final title listed on the rear dust jacket flap is "Magical Mimics of Oz" which was published in 1946.
