There is a Two Countinents book shop label affixed to the front flap of the dust jacket, $8.95 price at bottom. Dust jacket shows wear and light sunning. A 2" sepration at top of back flap and small edge tears.

First edition of Dorr's highly respected volume of gravure photographs depicting memorable images of mothers with their children. Illustrated boards with red cloth backstrip. A very good copy in price intact ($4.50) dustwrapper. The wrapper has some splits and small tears at seams, but still presents well. Includes the "From The Author To The Reader" two page booklet tipped in at front as well as the Dorr Foundation note tipped in before the title page.

The dust jacket has clipping and tears particularly along the top and a inch and half off bottom of spine but is now mylar protected. Pricing ($4.50) is still found on the jacket. "From Author to the Reader," a 2-page pamphlet is tipped in back of first page and another from the The Dorr Foundation across from title page. From jacket: Nell Dorr's pictures are memorably powerful in their sometimes awesome stillness and in their contained love of childhood, of nature and its flowers and seasons.

On the half title page, nicely inscribed and signed by American photographer Nell Dorr (1893-1988) to the Santa Barbara Museum of Art, with museum stamps to the top margin (the only indication of institutional ownership). And a beautiful addition to any Tudor collection still lacking a copy. There are no signatures in this book, although Dorr was generous in signing copies for individuals. Dj carries the $4.50 price with mark-downs. Dust jacket shows wear to edges with 3 chips. Both flaps have partial separation.

Signed by author on page [3] with a personal inscription to Jeanne Hauer Faulkner, dated March 17, 1957.

This copy was stored on bookshelves where no effort was made to control humidity resulting in a musty aroma. The plain paper jacket has some rubbing wear, soil, foxing, browning at extremities. This copy belonged to a gentleman by the name Wilburn Jones who lived in Dallas and seems to be a friend of the author who spent her final years in the same town. This copy has been signed by the author on the FFEP..
