Jacket lightly rubbed and edgeworn, with several tiny chips at corners. Attractive and tight first edition of this account of doing for Virgil's "Aeneid" for Heinrich Schliemann did for Homer's Troy -- locating the actual physical site, a crater west of Naples -- that served as the poet's inspiration.

GB: Robert Hale, 1967. Tan cloth, gilt. In excellent condition BUT top text edge lightly spotted and faint browning to end papers. Dustwrapper/dustjacket is in very good condition with minor signs of wear and/or age. Spine is a bit faded and minor mark to back cover.. 1st Edition. Hardback. VG+/VG DW.
