Hardcover. 8vo, 21cm, xvii,491 & xii,487 & xi,495pp., with 17 steel engraved plates including 3 frontis portraits, 51 wood engravings, rebound in blue buckram, gilt spine titles, a fine set (5.9) - Julia Pardoe (1806-1862), from Yorkshire, was noted for writings on Eastern life and European history. This work was published originally in 1847.

Tre volumi (24 cm) di XV-455 pagine, ritratto inciso in antiporta e illustrazioni incise nel testo; IX-456 pagine; ritratto inciso in antiporta e illustrazioni nel testo; VIII-457 pagine, ritratto inciso in antiporta e illustrazioni incise nel testo. Legatura di inizio 900 in mezza pelle blu a punte. Dorsi a nervi ornati e dorati; risguardie in carta marmorata, tagli superiori dorati. Purtroppo DIFETTOSA la legatura del volume 2 che presenta erosioni al dorso e la tela dei piatti staccata per vecchia umidità, e parzialmente anche la legatura del volume terzo (distacco della tela al piatto posteriore). Peraltro l'interno di tutti i volumi è in ottime condizioni.
