Early edition, no edition remarks but most likely the first printing. With an ink inscription from author to title page, which reads 'With best wishes- John Parris'. Illustrations include nineteen full-page illustrations, made up of maps of the local area as well as various black-and-white photographs.This is an uncommon work by John Parris which relates stories and anecdotes that are important to the Cherokee community, particularly within the Asheville, North Carolina area.  Stories in this work include 'The First Invader', 'Red Pawns', 'The English Steal a March', 'The Cherokee Save Andrew Jackson', and 'Tsali's Sacrifice'.With a foreword by Harry E.
