New York: Harper & Brothers, 1942. This clean and attractive first edition is a highly readable account of Shaw's life, philosophy, and works. It has red cloth covers with a blind-stamped Harper & Brothers logo on the front panel, and gilt spine titles. The edges are bumped and the bottom edge is rubbed. As for the interior, the binding is tight and secure, and the text pages are clean, without any tears or stains. The former owner has signed and dated her name on the front free endpaper. See photo..
