London: Henry Colburn, 1828. Second Edition . Hardcover. Very Good. A very good five volume set which has been rebound in a quite attractive green quarter leather binding with marbled boards. The binding is let down by paper spine labels which could be replaced. Volume 1 has two bookplates including that of a college but there are no markings in the books. New end-papers. Some foxing especially to frontispiece of each volume but overall a reasonably clean set. Seven portrait plates and four folding plates all as called for. These Memoirs comprise Pepys' diary from 1659 to 1669 and a selection from his private correspondence edited by Richard Lord Braybrooke. [Please note extra postage will be required for this set].
