Minor issues present such as mild cracking, inscriptions, inserts, light foxing, tanning and thumb marking. Overall a good condition item. Boards have mild shelf wear with light rubbing and corner bumping. Some light marking and tanning.

G. Bell and Sons, Ltd, 1952. Hardcover. Acceptable. 1952. Thin Paper Edition. 371 pages. No dust jacket. Blue cloth with gilt lettering. Volumes I-III. Light foxing and noticeable tanning to pages. More prominent to text block edges, pastedowns and free endpapers. Hinges are moderately cracked causing boards and binding to be loose. Boards have minor corner bumping and edgewear with mild tanning and scuffing overall. Spine has heavier tanning with soft crushing to ends. Lettering remains bright and clear. Book has a slight forward lean.

Pages have light tanning and foxing throughout. Pencil inscription and sticker to front pastedown and endpaper. Minor dog-eared corners. Boards have light shelf-wear with corner bumping. Slight crushing to spine ends. Wear marks overall.

Cracking to front hinge, with exposed netting. Moderate rub-marking and tanning to pastedowns and endpapers with plate to front. Boards have moderate shelf wear, with rubbing and marking. Light bumping to corners and heavy crushing to spine ends. Book has noticeable forward lean. Boards are slightly bowed with water stains.

New York: Random House, 1941. First edition thus. Hardcover with slipcase. Very Good. Slipcase somewhat battered but books are very good

London: J.M. Dent, 1908. Cloth. Good. 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. Pale aqua blue cloth bindings. Volume 2 spine faded a bit, slight wear to the bottom front cover corner of vol 1, a few minor marks to the covers, volume 1 inner hinges loosened but secure. 666+ 719 pages. Toning and light marking to the pages, armorial bookplate of WJ Winter-Taylor on the endpaper of vol 2.

London: G. Bell and Sons Ltd, 1946. Hardcover. Good/No Jacket. 3-book set: Vols I-III (1659-1663); Vols IV-VI (1664-1667); Vols VII-VIII (1667-1669 + Index). Bound in blue cloth boards with gilt lettering to spine. Cut edges are slightly tanned but the text blocks are in very clean condition. Books 1 and 3 have slight splitting between prelim pages but this does not affect the binding which is still tight. A nice copy.
