Beveled boards. Original patterned endpapers. Text block with marbled edges. Over 200 engravings both in text and a single full page map. Very slight fading to the spine. Slight wear to the edges otherwise a much superior copy of the book. Arctic Biblio. 13318. A general history of all arctic exploration from the Vikings to Delong. I suspect the book came out to capitalize on the Delong Expedition and the interest in the Expedition being lost. Overall it is a very think and somewhat poorly produced production which is very familiar in Subscription titles like this. Still not a common title and more so to find a collectable copy like this example. 1882
