Text is unmarked. Binding tight. Said to be one of the Petersham's most elusive titles. The story of the adventures of Get-A-Way, "an old worn out [toy] horse from America, and Hary Janos The Obsitos, a one-armed toy wooden soldier.

Lushly illustrated with alternating full color and gray scale full and partial page artwork by the Petershams. Boards worn through at tips, light mark of large ring to back cover, still a bright, handsome copy with neat owner's name inked on verso of front free endpaper.

Original artist's maquette for Get-a-way and Hary Janos. No date, but before 1933, when Viking published the first edition. Sixty-four pencil numbered pages. The title page and contents leaf are drawn in crayon and pencil. The first full opening, pages 4 and 5, is quite fully rendered in pencil, crayon, and watercolor.
