Lathrop. Pages remain bright and clean with minimal tanning and foxing. Binding remains firm. Boards have moderate shelf wear with mild bumping and fraying to corners and crushing and fraying to spine ends. All surfaces heavily tanned, particularly spine.

Foxing to textblock edges, endpapers, half-title and title pages as well as occasionally throughout the book. 214pp. 3 colour plates (including frontispiece), together with 20 b/w illustrations by the American illustrator Dorothy P Lathrop (1891-1980).

Tail of spine very slightly worn with 2 minute nicks to cloth, tiniest bump to corners, lower cover slightly unevenly faded, 1 or 2 very minor marks to cloth, erased pencil inscription on front endpaper, showing slightly, edges faintly foxed, occasional pale fox spot to margins. Very good plus copy (lacking dustwrapper). Author and artist of this delightful popular doll book were American. It first appeared in the US in 1929 with the subtitle: My First Five Hundred Years.
