Volume 2 (1886) contains an important twelfth-century history of the first Norman bishops, some episcopal biographies, and a chronicle covering the fourteenth to early sixteenth centuries.

Volume 3 (1894) includes charters, letters, wills, papal bulls and other documents dating from 930 to 1522. They chiefly deal with the relationship of York with other English and Scottish dioceses, and with the papacy.

Volumes are Good to Good minus with significant edgewear to black-paper-coverd boards, minor scuffing and light soiling to boards, former owner's seal pressed into front free endpapers, minor foxing, age-toned pages, and bumped corners; brown-leather spines are relatively clean and less worn, and gilt spine lettering is bright on all volumes. Volume I has jagged tear and missing piece in center of rear free endpaper, where it was at one point glued to pastedown; "Errata et Addenda" page also has tear and missing piece at top… Leer más

Clean tight texts a bit dusty on top edges and slightly solied on bottom edge. A few marks to covers. Bottom edges of covers a little scuffed. Still a handsome set with clean bright spines..
