Good in fair dw. <p>First edition.<p>Redding's only novel deals with the troubled career of a teacher of mixed race who rises to a position of political influence.

Binding is just beginning to separate at the front gutter. Pages are clean and unbent with slight staining to the outer text block edge and sunning to the upper and lower text block edges.

Covers and page edges slightly foxed, otherwise fine in a bright dust jacket with subtle foxing to rear panel and two closed tears in upper front panel (barely visible).
