Pages and illustrations are lightly tanned and thumbed at the edges, with light foxing. Textblock edges dyed gilt. Binding has remained firm. Boards are a little rub worn with slight shelf wear to corners, spine and edges. Corners are a little bumped. Spine ends are a mildly crushed, with small splits and peeling. Light tanning to spine and edges. Visible wear marks to boards.

Collated, illustrated with a frontispiece and forty four plates, lacking only plate V.The second work is Billings's examination of the geometry of the gothic designs of Carlisle and Worcester Cathedrals. Illustrated with five engraved plates, as called for by the 'List of Plates' leaf.
